The introduction of anthropogenic micropollutants poses an extreme threat to aquatic ecosystems and drinking water resources..

Waste water from sewage treatment plants contains numerous residues of drugs, corrosion inhibitors, pesticides, cosmetics and many other man-made substances, which have a hormone-like effect as endocrinological disruptors and which have been proven to trigger massive, in extreme cases even fatal malfunctions in the bodies of highly developed organisms.

Up to 5.000 chemicals are present in an average household, the residues of which are often disposed of in the waste water.

An additional burden of micropollutants is introduced by industry.

Studies have shown, for example, that the beta-blocker metoprolol and the anti-epileptic drug carbamazepine damage organs in fish.

Even a change in gender characteristics in fish could be documented as being caused by the contraceptive ethinylestradiol.

Even the smallest amounts (nanograms per litre ng/l) of bisphenol A (BPA) in drinking water lead to massive obesity in mice, for example, due to an increase in fat cells.

Tiere

Another problem that is spreading rapidly is the fact that, due to the excessive accumulation of antibiotic drugs in rivers and lakes, bacteria is developing multi-resistance to these substances.

In Germany, for example, experiments have shown that bacteria are now even resistant to reserve antibiotics, which were designed to ensure that humans continue to be protected in the event that the effect of existing antibiotics fails.

Alter

Only by retrofitting an additional clarification stage can the continuous introduction of micropollutants into the invironment, which primarily occurs through the sewage treatment plants, be stopped.

There is an urgent

need for action.

Handlungsbedarf

Intensatec has developed two water technologies based on many years of research, which can solve this problem.

Tests impressively prove that the elimination of micropollutants using the P.II industrial is widely over 95%, which is currently unique.

In industrial waste water, for example, almost 100% of highly toxic phenol can be eliminated.

The systems are at the cutting edge, modularly cascadable and require little space.

For example, a treatment plant with a surface area of approx. 100m2 for the P.II industrial can even clean 800m3 of water per hour of micropollutants and therefore not further contaminate waste water.

Processing a volume of 1.600m3 of water per hour only requires about 140m2 of space.

The P.II industrial can be integrated into globally standardised sewage treatment plants without costly conversion measures due to its small space requirement.

The average cost per month is just over €1.00 per connected inhabitant.

Those who are serious about it can set the course for the future of our children in this way.

Due to the modular design of the P.II industrial, any amount of water can be treated.

Industrial companies that previously had to dispose of their waste water at great expense can also breathe a sigh of relief.

The P.III industrial, which is optically identical to the P.II industrial is capable of breaking up even highly toxic compounds and thus rendering them harmless.

The costs for this are often less than

€20,-/m3
